The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) skills session and checklist is an optional test that can accompany PALS certification. Upon successful completion of all parts of the course, students are emailed an AHA PALS course completion card, valid for two years. Use the Red Cross PALS register for skills check-off assignment in the course catalog on HLC to enroll in a 30 min hands-on session after completing online. This is for ACLS Heartcode online skills check-off. Course participants who successfully complete Part 1 receive a certificate granting them entrance to a skills practice session (Part 2) and skills test (Part 3). After you take the online course, you will need to come in and check off your skills with an AHA Instructor with First on Scene CPR. HeartCode PALS Part 1 is a web-based, self-directed program that teaches healthcare providers knowledge and skills needed to recognize and prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children.
